About The Position

This role sits within Volvo Financial Services, the captive finance company of Volvo Group. VFS provides financial services including finance and insurance solutions for trucks, buses, coaches and construction equipment. They support customers and dealers as part of a global and diverse team of professionals who work with energy, passion and respect. As a Paralegal Intern, you'll work across different areas of law, gaining hands-on legal and business experience while supporting the Legal & Compliance team. You will have professional development opportunities, with on-the-job training and exposure to a wide range of legal and compliance tasks. Requirements

• 2 years completed – Placement between 2nd & 3rd study years.
• Studying for a qualifying law degree (LLB).
• Academic grades on track for a first or 2:1 in your chosen studies.
• Strong analytical skills and understand how to research changes in legal development.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Excel with an interest in learning new systems.
• Motivated and willing to learn, develop, and contribute quickly, demonstrating independence in your work.
• Confident with the ability to communicate across all levels of the business.
• A strong interest in how an in-house legal function operates in the business sector.
• Cannot have completed their degree.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and updating contractual templates to reflect changes in legislation
• Identifying and implementing changes to business processes in response to regulatory change
• Drafting internal policy documentation, briefing notes and training materials to educate the business on legal issues and best practice
• Participation in additional stand-alone team projects.
• Providing general assistance to other members of the legal team
• Conducting legal research and presenting findings clearly and concisely.
