About The Position

The Paralegal I assists in providing comprehensive, high-quality legal services to eligible clients in civil cases, in accordance with organizational policies and the Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct. The role supports a wide variety of civil cases under the supervision of the Office Manager and performs other duties as required.

Requirements

Be an independent worker with excellent analytical and organizational skills, the ability to think systemically, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, plan projects, manage their execution, and document results.
Demonstrate interest in and sensitivity to the legal needs of people living in poverty, and motivation to improve their condition.
Be able to represent Community Legal Aid and advocate for its mission.
Have a professional attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, dependability, and a strong desire to contribute to an effective, collaborative work environment.
Have a professional demeanor and the ability to relate to people in crisis and to low-income people, with a desire to go the extra mile to ensure clients are well served.
Have excellent oral and written skills.
Have thorough working knowledge of the computer programs and office machines used by the firm, and the ability to learn new programs and machines as required.
Be a notary public or able to become one immediately following hiring.
