About The Position

Dominion Energy is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal with experience in state and federal regulatory proceedings to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting attorneys by coordinating responses to interrogatories and requests for documents, managing regulatory filings, preparing legal documents, and ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws. This position requires a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The role involves preparing, filing, and tracking regulatory documents and reports with state and federal agencies, ensuring timely submission of required filings, and developing a comprehensive calendar for regulatory deadlines. It also includes assisting in managing legal proceedings, coordinating responses to regulatory inquiries, preparing legal memoranda and correspondence, and organizing regulatory filings. Additionally, the position requires cross-departmental collaboration with compliance, finance, operations, and accounting, as well as legal research on regulatory issues and assisting with litigation preparation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of paralegal experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved program.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state agencies.
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, Bloomberg) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven experience with technology tools (e.g., software, applications, platforms).
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Litigation experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, such as energy, healthcare, finance, or telecommunications.
  • Familiarity with administrative law and procedures for regulatory hearings and filings.
  • Knowledge of document management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, file, and track regulatory documents and reports with state and federal agencies.
  • Ensure timely submission of required filings to maintain compliance.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive calendar for regulatory deadlines and filings.
  • Assist in managing legal proceedings and matters involving state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate responses to interrogatories and requests for documents, investigations, audits, or inquiries from regulatory bodies.
  • Assist with preparing legal memoranda, reports, summaries and correspondence related to regulatory matters.
  • Organize and maintain accurate records of regulatory filings.
  • Work closely with internal departments, such as compliance, finance, operations and accounting, to ensure regulatory adherence across the organization.
  • Research legal precedents, case laws, and administrative decisions related to regulatory issues.
  • Monitor regulatory filings, summarize findings and present recommendations to attorneys for further action.
  • Assist with litigation preparation, including the coordination of discovery materials and trial exhibits.
