This is a 6.5 hours per day, 180 days per year, Paraeducator position with benefits at Horizon Elementary School. Anticipated start date is September 1, 2026. The successful candidate will support the teacher in a Connections classroom, working with intermediate-aged students who exhibit challenging behaviors. Responsibilities include assisting with academic instruction and providing student supervision. The paraeducator will also support students during inclusion opportunities in general education classrooms. In addition, the role involves helping the teacher plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with state standards, district curriculum, and best practices for diverse learners. The candidate will supervise students in various settings, including recess, the cafeteria, and the library, assist with bus arrival and departure, and perform crossing guard duties before and after school. The position may also include supporting the implementation of special education services, such as working toward IEP goals, providing medical or physical assistance, and helping with personal care needs.
