The Paraeducator Specialist - EL (Bilingual Required) position at Peninsula Elementary is a classified role working 6.50 hours per day for 180 days per year. The shift time is subject to building needs. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and either a minimum of 72 college quarter credits from a nationally accredited institution or passing the ETS test. Experience working with students in an educational setting is necessary, along with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Fluency in both Spanish and English is a mandatory requirement. The specialist must be able to relate positively to students, parents, staff, and teachers, and have the ability to work with elementary students in a tutoring capacity. Successful experience with students with disabilities is also required. The role involves responding with compassion to students needing assistance with personal care and verbally coaching them through such situations.
