About The Position

Assists one or more teachers in providing basic sign language interpretation/translation of curriculum and supervision of assigned children in a classroom setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience working with students in a classroom or equivalent environment
• Successful completion of a rigorous competency exam validating district and state required competency
• Successful completion of a sign language interpreter training program
• Experience interpreting in one or more sign systems/languages
• NCLB Compliance (48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
• Proof of HS Graduation - High School Diploma, High School Transcripts or Equivalent (ex: GED)
• Resume (Provide clear evidence of required experience)

Nice To Haves

• May require a valid driver’s license.
