About The Position
Assists one or more teachers in providing basic sign language interpretation/translation of curriculum and supervision of assigned children in a classroom setting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working with students in a classroom or equivalent environment
- Successful completion of a rigorous competency exam validating district and state required competency
- Successful completion of a sign language interpreter training program
- Experience interpreting in one or more sign systems/languages
- NCLB Compliance (48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
- Proof of HS Graduation - High School Diploma, High School Transcripts or Equivalent (ex: GED)
- Resume (Provide clear evidence of required experience)
Nice To Haves
- May require a valid driver’s license.
