This position is for a Paraeducator Life Skills 1:1 with medical support at Knolls Vista Elementary. The role involves providing individualized medical support tailored to the specific needs of an assigned student, as directed by their healthcare plan and prescribed by the school nurse or physician. This may include delegated healthcare tasks such as managing seizures, catheterization, diabetes management, or other specialized medical care. The paraeducator will collaborate closely with the student's case manager and school nurse, perform delegated medical tasks, and support both educational and medical goals. Additionally, the role involves behavior support and de-escalation, lesson and classroom support, and requires completion of Safety-Care Behavioral Safety Training. Effective communication and accurate record-keeping are essential. The paraeducator is responsible for ensuring student safety at all times, demonstrating professionalism and adaptability, and participating in ongoing professional development. This is a special services position and may involve reassignment if the student no longer requires 1:1 support.
