About The Position

Provides individual behavior intervention and medical support to students in a classroom setting. Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management that occurs in special education and general education classrooms, lunchroom, and play field environs. Assists individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Completion of at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment.
• NCLB Compliance (48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
• Proof of HS Graduation (High School Diploma, High School Transcripts or Equivalent (ex: GED))
• Resume (Provide clear evidence of required experience)
• CPR/First Aid Certificate
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Compliance with District skill/competency requirements.
• May require a valid First Aid/CPR card.
