About The Position

Provides individual behavior intervention and medical support to students in a classroom setting. Assists individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning. Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management that occurs in special education and general education classrooms, lunchroom and play field environs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
• NCLB Compliance (48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam).
• Proof of HS Graduation (High School Diploma, High School Transcripts or Equivalent (ex: GED)).
• Resume (Provide clear evidence of required experience).
• Valid CPR/First Aid card/certificate.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Compliance with District skill/competency requirements.
• May require a valid First Aid/CPR card.
