About The Position

The Marshfield R-1 School District is seeking a Paraprofessional for a Special Education Elementary position for the 2026-27 school year. This role serves as support staff to implement special education or related services for a class and/or provide direct assistance to students with disabilities. The paraprofessional will work under the direct supervision of a Special Education teacher and report to the Building Principal in collaboration with the Director of Special Services. Key attributes for this role include good people skills, flexibility, the ability to work under pressure, stay on task, responsibility, reliability, being a self-starter, and the ability to adjust well to change.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of ParaPro examination, 20 hr training for substitute certificate or a minimum of 60 college hours.
  • If have sub training or 60 hours sub certificate is required.
  • Must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the Board of Education.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direct supervision of a Special Education teacher when providing instructional services.
  • Assist students to complete instructional activities.
  • Assist in the supervision of students, as required, to ensure students' individual needs are met in relation to the student’s IEP goals, objectives, accommodations, and/or modifications.
  • Provide physical assistance based on student needs such as lifting, transferring, moving from class to class, feeding, toileting, and physical intervention.
  • Participate in training activities as required by the District in order to maintain professional knowledge related to the position.
  • Carry out work responsibilities effectively under the pressure of deadlines, difficult situations, interruptions, and new or emergency situations.
  • Demonstrate respect for students, staff, and parents in all situations.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the principal or supervising teacher, which are related to facilitating success (i.e., instructional, social, behavioral) for students with disabilities.
