About The Position

Ampersand Therapy is seeking dedicated para educators to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year in Bellevue, Washington. Whether you’re an experienced para educator or just beginning your school therapy journey, we’d love to hear from you!

Job Highlights:
Location: Bellevue, WA
Position: Para-educator
Schedule: 7-3:30pm, M-F
Setting: In-person, Middle School and Middle School positions
Start Date: ASAP for the rest of the 25-26 school year

Requirements

• Must meet the following education requirement: 1. Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; or 2. Obtain an associate (or higher) degree; or 3. Pass a state-approved paraeducator assessment, such as the ETS ParaPro test with a score of 455 or higher
• Must have experience working with children and supporting students with behavioral needs

Responsibilities

• Support students with personal care and/or medical needs (e.g., hygiene, lifting, toileting, feeding, etc.).
• Assist with student transitions, transportation, supervision (lunch, recess, bus, assemblies), and classroom coverage when the teacher is absent.
• Provide support for students with significant behavioral or emotional needs, including implementing behavior management strategies.
• Assist with instruction (small/large groups, vocational programs), IEP preparation, assessments, and monitoring due process timelines under teacher direction.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials, maintain student records/files, and use technology for data entry, reports, and assistive devices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support students, teachers, and educational planning.
