About The Position
The Para-Educator will aid and support the ALC Classroom Facilitator in the effective implementation of ALE programming. This role involves reinforcing instructional activities, assisting in the preparation and implementation of teaching and learning activities, providing student supervision, and managing supplies. The Para-Educator will also assist in preparing instructional lessons, participate in meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate
- Completed 60 credit hours at an institution of higher education OR Obtained an Associate’s degree or higher OR Passed the paraprofessional academic assessment test
Responsibilities
- Reinforce instructional activities with students as prescribed by the ALE Classroom Facilitator.
- Assist in the preparation and effective implementation of all teaching and learning activities in ALCs or other ALE programming tiers.
- Provide effective student supervision at all times and assist in the coordination and effective implementation of all activities under the direction of the classroom facilitator.
- Inform site facilitator when supplies are low.
- Assist in the preparation instructional lessons as directed by the ALE classroom facilitator.
- Participate in in-service, professional, and/or faculty meetings as directed by the ALE classroom facilitator or building principal.
- Reports to and is responsible to the site facilitator.
- Other duties as assigned.
