About The Position

JUSTIN is an award-winning winery and fine dining establishment in Paso Robles, recognized for its Michelin Star and Green Star awards for three consecutive years. We are seeking a Pantry Line Cook (Dinner Service) to join our team. We welcome candidates at all experience levels who are passionate about developing their culinary skills within a Michelin-starred kitchen. The ideal candidate is motivated, reliable, possesses a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a desire to grow with a company that values creativity and continuous self-development. The work schedule is Wednesday - Sunday, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, at our JUSTIN Estate.

Requirements

  • Previous kitchen experience preferred
  • Culinary degree preferred, but not required
  • Food Handler’s Card required
  • Strong ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a genuine passion for food and wine
  • Calm, approachable demeanor with excellent teamwork skills
  • Multitasking and strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and safe food handling practices
  • Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Supports the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in the Garde Manger (Pantry) section.
  • Participates in daily kitchen prep work and station set-up prior to service, maintaining the highest quality food preparation standards.
  • Prepares proteins, seasonal ingredients, and pantry items safely and in compliance with local food safety regulations.
  • Follows Chef instructions precisely to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.
  • Works closely with the Chef team to maintain standards, execute new dishes, and support seasonal menu changes.
  • Assists in the preparation and execution of special events as assigned by the Chefs.
  • Communicates product and garnish needs to the Farmstead team and picks items from the JUSTIN garden as required.
  • Sets up and maintains the pantry station prior to and during dinner service, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness throughout service.
  • Works as a collaborative team member, contributing to a positive and efficient kitchen culture.
