About The Position

The Pantry Coordinator at Feeding South Florida (FSF) is responsible for daily operations and client experience at the Pembroke Park pantry. This individual ensures the pantry is fully stocked, organized, and client-ready, while creating a warm, supportive atmosphere for clients. The role includes guiding clients through the pantry process, offering basic nutritional education, and assisting clients with food selections, bagging, and, if requested, walking groceries to their vehicles. The Pantry Coordinator will also be cross-trained in Client Services to assist with screenings, appointment scheduling, and basic application support when needed. The ideal candidate is passionate about food access, service-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Level II Background Check Required.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish.
  • The ability to maintain a pleasant and calm demeanor under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively using various communication mediums, e-mail, written correspondence, phones, etc.
  • Excellent computer and technology skills; ability to type 50 WPM, schedule video conference using a variety of software such as Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Working knowledge of MS Suite; Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint
  • Experience working with at-risk, vulnerable populations.
  • Sensitivity to diverse populations with sound judgment and the ability to serve people in a compassionate, patient, friendly, and courteous manner, showing sincere interest in people’s concerns.
  • Strong moral compass with ability to exercise discretion, including a demonstrated impartiality to certain organizations, agencies, groups, or individuals.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, with comfort and ability to speak publicly and teach others.
  • Strong grammar, spelling, and math skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure pantry is fully stocked, organized, and clean at the start and end of each shift.
  • Greet clients and walk them through the pantry shopping experience with warmth and dignity.
  • Educate clients on the nutritional value of available food options and promote healthy eating habits.
  • Assist clients with bagging groceries and provide help to their vehicles when requested.
  • Monitor food rotation, expiration dates, and inventory restocking.
  • Follow customer service best practices to ensure clients leave with a positive, respectful experience.
  • Screen clients for program eligibility and assist with basic government benefit applications as needed.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for pantry or wraparound services using FSF’s case management software.
  • Track and input client data, service records, and follow-up notes in Oasis.
  • Collect client satisfaction surveys and share feedback to support program improvements.
  • Collaborate with Volunteer teams to enhance the client experience.
  • Support daily volunteer operations by orienting individuals on pantry processes and expectations.
  • Communicate operational needs and any service disruptions to the Client Services Manager.
