About The Position

As the Pantry Assistant, you will assist with all activities related to the pantry program in the Family Resource Center and the Mishawaka Food Pantry location, ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out. The Salvation Army is the fourth largest charity in the United States and is an international organization based on Biblical principles created to help people in need. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Position requires a background check to be completed. Findings may disqualify an individual for this position
Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard
Must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 30 days of employment
Commitment to serving others and understanding the needs of the surrounding community
Computer literacy, proficiency with Microsoft Office
Level-headedness, resiliency, flexibility, consistency, dependability, compassion

Nice To Haves

Spanish language proficiency preferred

Responsibilities

Support the overall Pantry program
Attend meetings, workshops, or seminars related to pantry issues as required
Mediate clients’ needs
Greet and welcome clients
Provide food and accurate referrals about the Salvation Army and community-wide programs
Support other Family Resources Center activities and programs
Other tasks as assigned by leadership
