About The Position

The Panther Newspaper Podcast Assistant works under the Podcast Editor and is responsible for supporting the creation, production, and editing of the newspaper’s podcast content. This role involves supporting the entire podcast production process, from conceptualization, booking guests, interviewing, recording, and publication.

Requirements

• Background in podcast production.

Responsibilities

• Support and Produce Podcast Episodes: Collaborate with the editorial team to plan and develop podcast episodes that align with the papers content strategy.
• Record, edit, and produce 1 podcast episode per week.
• Manage the scheduling and logistics of podcast recording sessions.
• Write scripts and prepare interview questions for interview.
• Develop a weekly Chapman-centric podcast in partnership with Chapman Radio.
• Ensure High-Quality Audio Production: Edit and mix audio recordings, ensuring clear sound quality and seamless transitions.
• Publish and Promote Podcast Episodes: Manage the distribution of podcast episodes on various platforms (e.g., Apple Podcasts, Spotify, SoundCloud).
• Work with the Digital Marketing team to create promotional materials, including episode descriptions, social media posts, and graphics.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategies for increasing podcast visibility and audience engagement.
