About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Panelboard Shipping Associate. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 5am - 1:30pm. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. In the Senior Production Associate, Shipping role, you will be responsible for packing and shipping customer orders and completing transactions in Eaton systems to maintain accurate inventory and you will work with the Supervisor to drive results on key metrics including safety, quality, delivery and productivity in the absence of the Team Leader. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 1 year of manufacturing or operations experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50 mile radius) will be considered for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Eaton systems including order entry (Vista), material management (DMM), MRP/ERP (AS400).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem solving skills.
  • Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs.
  • Willing to get forklift and yard truck certified as driving both are required for the role.
  • Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SharePoint.
  • Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
  • Must work somewhat independently and make decisions that affect the workgroup.
  • Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Hold current/be willing to become certified in operation of forklifts and yard dog industrial truck used to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by proactively addressing and resolving concerns and escalating issues to your supervisor as appropriate.
  • Compare shipping order to identify units and/or material for shipment. Select and prepare paperwork, commercial invoices, custom papers, shipping lists, instruction booklet, etc.
  • Communicate professionally to provide updates on the status of specific orders, resolve issues with shipping and promote teamwork across departments.
  • Pack, create and band equipment, parts, materials, products and accessories to minimize damage during shipment. Apply carton labels, stickers, stencils as required by shipping orders, instructions, etc.
  • Solicit driver contact information (i.e. cell numbers, name, etc.) and provide them with job site contact information, delivery hours, call ahead requirements, etc.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production.
  • Responsible for quality, including visual inspections of material before shipping to include compliance with buddy check process, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
  • Delegate tasks and align resources as appropriate to meet production goals including working in a production associate capacity due to absenteeism/leaves of absence.
  • Close trailers (TMS Processes) and manage/sort Shipping paperwork for closed trailers that are ready to be staged for carrier pull.
  • Train and be certified in operating fork trucks, manual and electronic pallet jacks.
  • Communicate with carrier when loads are ready to be pulled.
