About The Position

Power-Flo Technologies is seeking a Panel Technician to join our Rochester Panel Shop. This role involves building and wiring custom industrial control panels and OEM products according to provided schedules and specifications. The technician will be responsible for mechanical layout, component mounting, wiring, testing, and maintaining a clean and organized work area and tools.

Requirements

  • Basic Knowledge of Electrical Theory
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Must be able to follow and understand the PFT Shop Guidelines
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
  • Ability to work with other Technicians and Apprentices in a professional manner
  • Competent with the use of hand tools, i.e. jigsaw, drills, wrenches, screwdrivers
  • Competent with the use of electrical test equipment, i.e. Multi meter
  • Valid and Clean Driver's License

Nice To Haves

  • BOCES Electrical or AS in an Electrical Technology Field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build and wire custom industrial control panels and OEM products as assigned by the Panel Shop Supervisor, within the provided schedule.
  • Account for parts required for the job.
  • Mechanically layout and mount hardware components.
  • Wire complete panel in accordance with PFT panel procedures, UL508A specifications, and other best practices.
  • Work with other technicians in a team effort for large project situations.
  • Test Custom Industrial Control Panels and OEM Products.
  • Perform Point to Point wire tests in accordance with PFT testing procedures.
  • Perform torque checks and marking in accordance with PFT procedures.
  • Be able to perform and fill out the PFT Panel Final Check list.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area at all times.
  • Organize and maintain shop tools and equipment.
  • Organize and maintain personal tools.
  • Organize and maintain your project items and materials.
  • Help maintain common shop supplies (e.g., Labels, wire ties, wire).
  • Assist Apprentices and other Technicians in techniques and procedures.
