About The Position

The Panel Technician will be responsible for completing point-to-point wiring and installing a variety of electronic and electro-mechanical components. This role involves working with schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of material, as well as verifying the accuracy of design, manufacturing, and as-built documentation. The technician will also be responsible for wiring, constructing, and troubleshooting control panels, mounting and wiring electrical components, and performing power/debug/re-wiring of electrical panels and machines. Additionally, the position requires providing technical support during site installation and the ability to read and work from standard NFPA 79 style electrical schematics. The role also involves collaborating with development and support staff to maintain product knowledge and ensure precise communication with stakeholders, adhering to company policies and procedures, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Experience in industrial electrical panel building/production/fabrication.
  • Some lifting, bending and long-term standing required.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • 2-year trade school or union program
  • 2 years of related electrical or industrial instrumentation field experience
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and technical drawings
  • Troubleshoot issues with industrial control equipment

  • 2-year trade school or equivalent union program
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial control panel construction

Responsibilities

  • Complete point to point wiring and install a variety of electronic and electro-mechanical components (both repetitive and non-repetitive).
  • Work with schematics, wiring diagrams and bills of material.
  • Verify accuracy of design, manufacturing and as built documentation.
  • Wire, construct, and troubleshoot control panels.
  • Mount and wire electrical components i.e. (photoelectric eyes, probes, solenoid valves).
  • Power/debug/re-wire electrical panel and machines.
  • Provide technical support during site installation.
  • Read and work from standard NFPA 79 style electrical schematics.
  • Use of basic hand tools.
  • Work collaboratively with development staff and support staff to maintain thorough knowledge of product capabilities, and to ensure that all communications between John H. Carter Co., Inc. and its stakeholders are precise.
  • Follow John H. Carter Co., Inc. policies, procedures and methodologies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
