About The Position

The Panel Technician & Assembler is responsible for the assembly and build of electrical and mechanical projects specified for customers, including but not limited to cutting, drilling, wiring, and installing various components of a project. This position works in close with coordination with project engineers to assure desired project results and timelines are met.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and/or technical degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage several projects and deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to use, read and interrupt measuring devices such as a tape measure.
  • Ability to use a computer, operating software and wiring/device marking systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to assemble and wiring skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience as an electrician, technician, assembler, or equivalent education from a technical school.
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic devices.
  • Metal working including but not limited to fabrication, welding, etc.
  • Painting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive project assignments and instructions and read, view, interpret, follow schematics and layouts to fasten components on backplates or in enclosures.
  • Meet project schedules and deadlines.
  • Receive, identify, and sort components of a project and ensuring projects are crated appropriately and secure for shipment.
  • Drill and wire components by bundle wiring, cables, etc. in a neat manner.
  • Demonstrate and understand components for safe operation and install VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, pushbuttons, switches, relays, starters, transformers, etc.
  • Test and troubleshoot completed projects and connect required devices (sensors, motors, disconnects, power cables, etc.).
  • Work safely around 480V, 120V, 24V and pressurized systems.
  • Learn and navigate AutoCAD when required.
  • Quickly find common ground and solve problems for the good of all.
  • Easily gain trust and support of others.
  • Maintain an accurate follow-up system for actively tracking promises.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of products utilized in project builds.
  • Attend product training classes to develop superior product knowledge to apply to customer projects and applications.
  • Communicate well and respectfully with customers, engineers, fellow associates, management team and manufacturing partners to ensure a professional experience.
  • Develop an effective and productive working relationship with branch associates, sales associates and all managers.
  • Encourage collaboration and be viewed as a team player.
  • Organize, prioritize and complete tasks on time.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.
  • Travel to jobsites, if needed and when required.
  • Perform other manufacturing tasks as needed depending upon workload.
  • Perform other duties as instructed or required to successfully complete the job.
