The Palliative Care Chaplain is responsible for providing specialized spiritual care to hospitalized patients and their families facing serious illness and end-of-life care. This role involves assisting patients and families with faith-based medical decision-making, addressing spiritual distress, and providing spiritual counseling using expertise in Spiritual & Palliative Care. The chaplain also educates Palliative Care Team members on primary spiritual care, language, and knowledge for culturally appropriate, person-centered care, and teaches residents, fellows, and medical students on best practices for spiritual care in healthcare settings.
