About The Position

Team Member assists in any and all phases of production, preparation, and/or packaging of the product. Duties include, but not limited to lifting pans, pushing racks, placing product on moving conveyers, taking product off conveyors, stacking boxes, cleaning floors/pans/and buckets. Team Member must be willing to be flexible in job assignment, as the purpose of General Help/Labor is to rotate to different areas as determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to: product being run, employee absenteeism, machinery issues, etc. Team Member works with others as a team to complete tasks in an efficient manner, to ensure the line is ready to start and to minimize downtime. Completes paperwork as needed, such as crew sheets, downtime reports, etc. All Team Members are to adhere to Sara Lee Frozen Bakery’s policies, procedures, SQF 2000, Good Manufacturing Practices and Global Business Standards. As a Palletizer, duties include but are not limited to setting up printer Julian dates on cases. Adjust and set up case sealer for operation. Fill glue tank with glue (where applicable). Keep tape dispenser full so tape will seal the cases (where applicable). Maintain a clean work area through the shift. Load boxes in machine (where applicable).

Requirements

  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Willing to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willing to work in a production environment requiring safety glasses, hair/beard net, hearing protection, and rubber boots with safety toe.
  • Willing to climb up and down stairs to enter/exit the production area.
  • Walks over boot scrubbers prior to entering work areas.
  • Willing to withstand cold and hot environments.
  • Willing to work 8-12 hours shifts which include standing, walking, reaching over conveyors, loading pans, pushing racks and lifting pans and product.

Responsibilities

  • Rotates to different areas as determined by product being run, employee absenteeism, machinery issues, etc.

  • Ensures the line is ready to start and minimizes downtime.
  • Completes paperwork as needed, such as crew sheets, downtime reports, etc.
  • Adheres to Sara Lee Frozen Bakery’s policies, procedures, SQF 2000, Good Manufacturing Practices and Global Business Standards.
  • Sets up printer Julian dates on cases.
  • Adjusts and sets up case sealer for operation.
