About The Position

Crown Holdings, Inc. is a world leader in the metal packaging production process, designing and manufacturing a wide range of innovative and sustainable metal packaging solutions. The Plant 37 in Hanover, PA manufactures 2-piece and 3-piece steel cans for the food industry. The Palletizer Operator works closely with Supervision and Quality to ensure optimum levels in Quality Inspections, Package identification, and Final packaging. This position is scheduled on a rotating 12-hour schedule (5am-5pm) and may require mandatory overtime. The hourly rate of pay is $21.40.

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand 8-12 hours per shift.
Ability to climb and descend stairs.

Responsibilities

Understand and follow verbal instructions to completion of assigned tasks.
Maintain the palletizer operation of the food can package process with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity and Spoilage.
Operate one or more machines or equipment for the production of 2-piece or 3-piece steel cans.
Safely operate, identify basic mechanical problems, and maintain process equipment.
Communicate all pertinent information between management, co-workers, and between shifts on changes to equipment, production problems or any other related information.
Assist and train new palletizer operators as needed or required.
Apply skills and methods to improve plant production.
Follow SOP’s, Plant Rules, 6S Housekeeping, maintain equipment and modifications of existing production standards to achieve optimal efficiencies.
Enter information into a computer to generate labels for the pallets.
Perform accurate and continuous quality checks and record keeping.
Complete and/or administer necessary documentation such as monthly SAFE cards, accident/near miss/hazard reporting, and data process control input.
Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.
