About The Position

The Palletizer Operator is responsible for adhering to all safety regulations, packaging products to specifications, operating can palletizers, and performing various other duties to ensure efficient line operation and a clean work environment. This role involves assisting mechanics, operating a forklift, and potentially training other employees. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and manufacturing experience is preferred.

Requirements

  • Able to work 6:00pm-6:00am on a 2-2-3 schedule
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work at high speeds and multitask
  • Dependable and flexible to work rotating 12-hour shifts and overtime as needed
  • Ability to get forktruck certified
  • Able to work with little supervision
  • Able to work at heights including use of steps and ladders
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Ability to use basic mechanical tools to include measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
  • Ability to read, understand and work from blueprints and technical manuals
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, squat and stand for extended periods of time while performing job duties (up to 12 hours a day)
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, climb steps and ladders, walk, and lift on a continuous basis (up to 12 hours a day)
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds to waist level on an occasional basis

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and/or directives
  • Package product to required specifications
  • Operate can palletizer and package cans into pallets and boxes
  • Place sleeves in cartons or snakewrap on pallet as required
  • Manually load shells into equipment as required
  • Complete forms and reports as required, both manually and electronically
  • Assist Line Mechanics in basic repairs and preventive maintenance
  • Operate forktruck as required to assist Line Mechanics and fill in for Shipper/Warehouser (Lift Truck Operator) when required
  • Perform misc./utility duties as needed (i.e. clean & maintain baler; snow removal at night)
  • Maintain clean work area and perform other cleaning duties as assigned by Management
  • Assist in training other employees and Management Trainees as required
  • Attend training sessions as required
  • Exercise proper care and protection of company property
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management
