About The Position

The Palletizer Operator works closely with Supervision and Quality to ensure optimum levels in Quality Inspections, Package identification, and Final packaging. This position is scheduled on a rotating 12-hour schedule (5pm-5am) and requires mandatory overtime as needed. The starting rate of pay is $21.40 with an additional $2 an hour for shift differential.   • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand 8-12 hours per shift.
  • Ability to climb and descend stairs.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow verbal instructions to completion of assigned tasks.
  • Maintain the palletizer operation of the food can package process with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity and Spoilage.
  • Operate one or more machines or equipment for the production of 2-piece or 3-piece steel cans.
  • Safely operate, identify basic mechanical problems, and maintain process equipment.
  • Communicate pertinent information between management, co-workers, and between shifts regarding equipment changes, production problems, or other related information.
  • Assist and train new palletizer operators as needed or required.
  • Apply skills and methods to improve plant production.
  • Follow SOP’s, Plant Rules, 6S Housekeeping, maintain equipment, and modify existing production standards to achieve optimal efficiencies.
  • Enter information into a computer to generate labels for the pallets.
  • Perform accurate and continuous quality checks and record keeping.
  • Complete and/or administer necessary documentation such as monthly SAFE cards, accident/near miss/hazard reporting, and data process control input.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.
