Warehouse General Labor - Pallet Sorter - 1st Shift
About The Position
The Pallet Sorter supports warehouse operations by manually inspecting and sorting incoming pallets according to type and condition criteria. The role requires identifying damaged or incorrect pallets, removing lodged or adjacent debris, and meeting production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards. The position reports to the Supervisor. The role is primarily performed in a warehouse, where employees may encounter dust, fluctuating hot and cold temperatures, and moderate to high noise levels. Steel-toed boots and other personal protective equipment are required. The scheduled first shift is Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Pay is $16.00 per hour, with guaranteed 50-cent-per-hour increases at 90 days, one year, and annually thereafter for up to five years in the role.

- Ability to repeatedly lift and move pallets and materials, which may be heavy.
- Good manual dexterity and tactile sensitivity for inspecting pallet condition.
- Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions and safety alarms in a warehouse environment.
- Vision sufficient for pallet inspection and workplace safety, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Wear steel-toed boots and other required personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities
- Safely remove lodged or adjacent debris from incoming pallets.
- Manually sort pallets neatly and orderly by type criteria, such as color and manufacturer, and condition criteria, such as damaged or missing boards, raised or exposed nails, and missing blocks.
- Thoroughly inspect pallets during sorting to ensure they meet quality criteria and PLA standards.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area throughout the shift.
- Maintain the established hourly rate while supporting productivity, efficiency, and safety.
- Follow guidelines and procedures for safe handling of related equipment and materials.
- Comply with PLA policies and procedures and federal and state safety rules.
- Assist with other duties as assigned to support and improve team operations.
- Adjust as needed to changing reporting relationships, work assignments, or schedules to meet company needs and business requirements.
- Cooperate and communicate clearly with team members and management.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
