About The Position

CHEP is looking for a motivated Pallet Repair Operator to join their Hammond, LA team for the 2nd shift. This role involves the full assembly and repair of pallets using a pneumatic nail gun. The ideal candidate will have experience with pneumatic nail guns and saws, be able to perform repetitive physical work for 8 hours, and possess a strong work ethic. Requirements

Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of production tools such as pneumatic nail guns, or other relevant tools and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to lift and carry 78lbs at least 63% of the work shift.
Ability to push items with a maximum force of 34 lbs./feet.

2+ years previous experience working in an industrial, fast-moving setting with industrial machinery.

Responsibilities

Execute the full repair of all components of a pallet, including removal and replacement of defective boards, using repair guidelines.
Strive to meet daily production targets for efficiency and productivity.
Conduct visual inspections to identify any defects or irregularities in pallet construction, ensuring adherence to repair guidelines and quality standards.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment daily.
Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
Troubleshoot jams and perform basic maintenance of the saw.
Take stock boards and nail them together based on the type of pallet desired in an assembly department.
