About The Position

CHEP is looking for a motivated Pallet Repair Operator to join their Hammond, LA team for the 2nd shift. This role involves the full assembly and repair of pallets using a pneumatic nail gun. The ideal candidate will have experience with pneumatic nail guns and saws, be able to perform repetitive physical work for 8 hours, and possess a strong work ethic. Requirements

  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of production tools such as pneumatic nail guns, or other relevant tools and equipment.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Execute the full repair of all components of a pallet, including removal and replacement of defective boards, using repair guidelines.
  • Strive to meet daily production targets for efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify any defects or irregularities in pallet construction, ensuring adherence to repair guidelines and quality standards.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment daily.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Troubleshoot jams and perform basic maintenance of the saw.
  • Take stock boards and nail them together based on the type of pallet desired in an assembly department.
