About The Position

The DSI Pallet Jack Operator (Day Shift) is responsible for collecting and delivering products while adhering to company safety and quality procedures. This role involves operating pallet jacks, managing materials, and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods within the facility. The position also requires participation in team activities and adherence to Simmons Operating systems principles.

Requirements

Ability to obtain and maintain company-issued pallet jack licenses.

Nice To Haves

Experience in shipping and receiving.
Experience working with large moving equipment.
Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
High School or GED.

Responsibilities

Operates an electronic or hand-operated pallet jack between departments, buildings, and grounds.
Collects and delivers a wide variety of materials while adhering to established safety procedures.
Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Delivers materials to work areas as directed from the production supervisor.
Stacks materials in storage areas and loads shipments in trailers.
Ensures product or equipment being moved is undamaged and handled in a safe manner.
Identifies any mechanical problems or damage with the pallet jack and ensures the problems are reported to the supervisor for further inspection and repair.
Completes and delivers daily and weekly reports to the floor supervisor.
Uses scanning device to confirm product status.
Enters input and output data into Oracle program.
Prints labels for product totes.
Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and coordinating work to ensure B.E.S.T practices.
Attends appropriate team meetings.
Accepts responsibility to quickly identify areas lacking cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team to resolve issues.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
