About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for transporting product via electric pallet jack. The role requires employees to carry different loads when needed and assist in other areas as necessary. Adherence to all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations is mandatory. Personal protective equipment must always be used and maintained.

Requirements

  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
  • Must be able to comprehend some English.
  • Must be able to count and understand numbers.
  • Good interpersonal skills required.
  • Able to work professionally with employees from multiple areas (line leader, line operator, supervisor, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required.
  • Must be polite but able to ask questions and gain information from others when needed.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work in various functions.
  • Schedule flexibility is required.
  • Must be able to work any time.

Nice To Haves

  • Jack driver knowledge helpful but not required: needs to be able to get certified to be able to move product.

Responsibilities

  • Check specified labels of products to verify right content on boxes.
  • Transport product from one location to another.
  • Assist coworkers as needed.
  • Obtain certification before operating any driving equipment.
  • Frequently lift up to 40lbs and occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Walk throughout the facility frequently, covering distances from 1 to several miles per day.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Utilize good visual skills, including the ability to see and distinguish colors.
  • Work in extremely wet and cold environments, as well as wet and hot environments.
  • Communicate verbally with line leaders and supervisors.
  • Use hands and fingers for product inspection and box handling.
  • Work in environments with loud equipment, requiring ear protection.
  • Work around hanging and moving equipment, requiring a bump cap for protection.
  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Stand up to 8 hours.
  • Lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Experience frequent exposure to heat (incubators are 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Experience exposure to wet and dusty environments.
  • Perform frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
  • Roll and push buggies (approximately 1,000 lbs.).
  • Work around raw, live animal odors.
