Requirements

  • Experience in commercial, residential or auto body repair and finish work preferred but not required
  • Experience with PPG or Matthews paint mixing systems strongly considered
  • Familiarity with a variety of paint finish techniques on diverse substrates
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
  • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
  • A keen eye for color detail and results-driven approach
  • Outstanding written, email and oral communication

Responsibilities

  • Applying paint and other coatings manually and with spray applicators
  • Spraying multiple types of finishes, paints, and coatings to various materials
  • Sanding and smoothing the item in preparation for finishing
  • Understanding specifications of the project and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, and following written instructions
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
  • Working with glues and bonding materials
  • Cutting and assembling materials to specifications
  • Using power tools and hand tools to cut and prepare materials for assembly
  • Follows all safety standards and procedures
  • Keeping shop and work area clean and organized
  • Works with a sense of urgency to meet short deadlines without compromising quality
