About The Position

The Senior Painter provides the craft work needed to maintain and renovate building structures, finishes, and furnishings. The role produces professional-quality construction and coating applications using standard painting and carpentry skills, and performs preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with approved procedures, department policies, and manufacturer specifications. The position also involves planning construction tasks, documenting labor and material usage for capital projects, maintaining equipment, and following infection-control, hazardous-waste, and regulatory requirements.

The position is at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The hospital notes opportunities for advancement and encourages military experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–5 years of experience.
• Standard painter and carpentry skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep equipment clean and operational.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous or infectious waste properly and practice infection control.
• Adhere to regulatory guidelines.
• Produce professional, high-quality construction and coating applications using standard painter and carpentry skills.
• Perform layout and planning of construction tasks.
• Document labor hours and material usage for capital projects.
• Plan and perform preventative and corrective maintenance according to approved procedures, department policies, and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain and renovate building structures, finishes, and furnishings, and perform other duties as required.
