About The Position

This role is responsible for various painting processes on refrigerator products, including blasting, priming, and top coating. The painter will ensure proper application of coatings, inspect components, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to company policies, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, based on education and work experience.
  • 1-3 months related experience and/or training that includes knowledge of equipment, applications skills, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace.
  • Ability to express opinions regarding work methods.
  • Ability to take responsibility for mistakes.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of work performance.
  • Ability to provide direct assistance to manager as needed.
  • Ability to communicate information orally and/or written to other personnel in a clear, concise manner.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Knowledge of mixing ratios.
  • Ability to pass a pulmonary function test.

Responsibilities

  • Remove weld smut, smoke, and loose scale from components using blasting/blowing-off processes.
  • Ensure all steel blast grit is removed from components.
  • Inspect components for proper blast.
  • Apply a uniform coat of primer at the required mil thickness.
  • Check primed components prior to top coating and fix any imperfections like runs or sags.
  • Apply a uniform layer of topcoat at the required mil thickness.
  • Undercoat trailer components as needed.
  • Operate unload machines, inspect components, and repair if necessary.
  • Enter component numbers into the computer system.
  • Wipe down the entire trailer with solvents to remove overspray, overlaps on undercoat, etc.
  • Visually inspect paint and undercoating.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate, and highly productive manner according to company policy.
  • Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
  • Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis and maintain good attendance.
  • Work mandatory overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the company.
