About The Position

WAVE is currently looking for a day shift Painter to join our team! The shift is from 5am - 1pm. This role involves wearing specialized PPE, reporting for work on time, and completing a full shift. The Painter will be responsible for setting up equipment, painting in a paint booth, making adjustments for quality, checking and replacing parts of the paint booth, and performing manual spraying and coating. The role also includes troubleshooting paint equipment (Nordson), preparing and hanging aluminum extrusion and clips for powder-coat painting, completing required paint cell documentation, visually inspecting and reporting defects, and pushing racks into and removing them from the curing oven. The Painter must be flexible and adaptable to assignment changes, willing to help others, learn new things, and back up other areas as needed. Successful candidates must pass a drug screen, background check, and pre-placement physical. Overtime may be required, even if not scheduled in advance. Experience in a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment and with LEAN manufacturing, 6S, Six Sigma is preferred. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds
Able to stand 8-10 hours per day at assigned work area
Background check required

Knowledge and experience of machinery in manufacturing environment or similar.
Experience with LEAN manufacturing, 6S, Six Sigma.
Experience in a fast-paced, high performance manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Wear specialized PPE, such as PAPR hood and paint suit, heat protective gloves, etc.
Report for work on time every day and complete a full shift
Stand for extended periods of time and safely lift up to 40 pounds
Set up equipment and paint in paint booth
Make adjustments as necessary to ensure quality, defect-free paint application
Check parts of paint booth for wear, malfunction and replace as needed
Paint and coat through manual spraying, ensuring quality
Troubleshoot paint equipment (Nordson)
Prepare and hang aluminum extrusion and clips for powder-coat painting
Complete required paint cell documentation
Visually inspect and report defects
Push racks into and remove racks from curing oven
Flexible/adaptable to assignment changes, will jump in when help is needed, learn new things and back-up other areas as needed
Successfully pass drug screen, background check and pre-placement physical
Work overtime as needed, even if not scheduled in advance
