Prepare and paint product to meet company standards. Operate and maintain paint booths. This role involves painting product to meet company standards, inspecting parts for quality before and after painting, and performing daily paint line start-up and shut-down/clean-up tasks. The painter will also be responsible for cleaning booths and paint controls, pumps, hoses, and paint guns, as well as communicating with the Unload Lead to ensure consistent paint quality and making necessary adjustments. Operation of paint booth controls and paint guns, following ISO procedures for paint stock, and reporting supply needs and equipment breakdowns to the supervisor are also key duties. Daily preventive maintenance on paint booth equipment and paint room, operating a hoist, staging prep materials, blowing water out of weldments, inserting plugs, applying masking, handling covers, removing weld spatter, wiping off parts, and sorting/restocking plug bins are also part of the role. Non-essential functions include cleaning curing ovens and performing other duties as assigned, including prep, load, and unload duties.
