About The Position

The Oasis at Death Valley is situated in a lush, spring-fed desert oasis, surrounded by the vast and arid desert of Death Valley National Park. The Oasis operates the AAA Four Diamond Inn and Ranch, restaurants, gift shops, and the world's lowest elevation golf course. Both hotels are open year-round and feature swimming pools fed by naturally warm local springs. We’re hiring a Painter to Live. Work. Explore. in Death Valley National Park! Job Summary: Prepares and paints all surfaces, assuring quality and durability.

Requirements

Minimum 6 months experience preferred
Working knowledge of safe operation and proper maintenance of hand and power tools
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
Ability to climb and work from a ladder up to 40 feet from ground level
Ability to enter and work in crawl spaces and attics
Must be able to withstand working in extreme temperatures

Responsibilities

Perform all assignments requested assuring safety, quality, timeliness and cost effectiveness
Protects all surfaces during preparation and painting, avoiding damage or additional works resulting from overspray, spills, drips, etc
Applies latex, oil base, solvent base, mastic and epoxy coatings, ensuring highest quality and maximum durability
Uses and maintains all paint equipment
Tapes, textures, patches and repairs drywall
Applies acoustic ceiling applications
Mixes and blends paint
Operates sand blasting equipment
Work hours, shifts, overtime and on-call shifts, or other work as deemed necessary and / or assigned by Director of Engineering
Other duties as assigned
