About The Position

Austin Industrial is seeking a Painter Blaster to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting and apply paint to equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using spray guns, brushes, and rollers. This role involves working at heights and requires attention to detail in surface preparation and color mixing.

Requirements

• Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting.
• Must be able to paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush and rollers.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
• 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.

Responsibilities

• Reads work order and receives instructions verbally.
• Prepares surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt, oil, grease, removing old paint, smoothing cracks, and filling holes.
• Works at heights with no fear.
• May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color, according to specifications using paddle or mechanical mixer.
• May erect scaffolding or set up ladder to perform task above ground level.
• Applies paint to surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Other duties as assigned.
