About The Position

We are seeking Painters to support the Veteran community in the Montgomery, AL area. These positions are open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals. The role involves performing coating work using accepted coating methods, applying coating techniques for a smooth decorative appearance, and preparing surfaces for painting. This includes making repairs and alterations to exterior and interior surfaces and removing wallpaper.

Requirements

Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
3+ years of professional painting experience and knowledge in the construction field.
OSHA 30-hour construction certification.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Work at heights and climb ladders.
Work in confined spaces.
Work in high temperatures.
Work in a noisy environment.
Work may involve potential hazardous exposures such as asbestos, machine parts, soot, dirt, grease, chemicals, oil, and fumes.
Ability to function safely while wearing a respirator - Work requiring an OSHA-approved respirator and proper fit tested.
Standing and bending for long periods of time.
If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform coating work using accepted coating methods, such as brushing, rolling, and spraying.
Applies coating techniques to ensure a smooth decorative appearance and meet thickness and level requirements.
Applies coating materials with any of the accepted trade devices, including those designed to give special effects, for example, brushes, rollers, spray guns, and graining devices.
Prepares surfaces with methods such as smoothing with pumice and rottenstone, filling, shaping, and leveling with metal and synthetic resins.
Able to make repairs and alterations to paintable exterior and interior surfaces such as walls, floors, ceilings, windows, and doors.
Apply techniques to remove wallpaper and prep surface.
