About The Position

The Painter maintains Salt Lake County facilities by painting and repairing interior and exterior building surfaces. The role also includes removing graffiti, inspecting facilities for maintenance and safety issues, managing supplies and equipment, and coordinating work to meet deadlines. The employee must use safe work practices and respond to emergencies outside typical work hours.

The position requires four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. The successful applicant must pass a pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back program. A valid Utah driver’s license may be required to operate a vehicle.

Requirements

• Four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
• Must pass a required pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back program.
• A valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Utah may be required to operate a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Paints and repairs the interior and exterior of County facilities.
• Removes graffiti from grounds, buildings, walls, and sidewalks.
• Regularly inspects assigned facilities for maintenance and safety issues, including assessing parking lots for restriping needs.
• Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment, including initiating purchase requisitions for needed items.
• Schedules and coordinates painting activities to meet deadlines.
• Keeps accurate daily reports of work completed and employs safe work practices.
• Responds to emergency situations during non-typical work hours.
