About The Position
Austin Industrial is hiring a Painter with NCCER certification. The role involves preparing wood and metal surfaces and painting equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other work areas using spray guns, brushes, and rollers. The painter reads work orders and verbal instructions, prepares and repairs surfaces, selects and mixes coatings to specification, and may use ladders or scaffolding to work above ground level. Other duties may be assigned. The role is performed in industrial and construction environments and requires a consistent commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Austin Industries cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
Requirements
- Four years of journeyman-level experience.
- NCCER certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
- Able to work at heights.
- Able to perform the listed physical, mental, and environmental requirements of the position, including lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds and wearing required personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
- Read work orders and receive instructions verbally.
- Prepare surfaces by removing dirt, oil, grease, and old paint; smooth cracks; and coat or fill holes.
- Fill cavities and dents with putty as needed to create a smooth surface.
- Select and mix coating liquids to produce specified colors, using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
- Erect scaffolding or set up ladders as needed to perform work above ground level.
- Apply paint using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
