JOB SUMMARY: The responsibility of the Painter/ Carpenter is to paint the interior and exterior paint and finish maintenance while meeting, or exceeding, the hotel’s hospitality service standards.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills to interact with all guests and team members

  • Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the safety or health of employee or others.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, drill press, assorted power saws, paint sprayers, and power washers
  • Ability to carry and/or lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, bend, stoop, reach, twist, and fine manipulation throughout the workday
  • Ability to be intermittently exposed to dust and fumes while wearing proper safety gear

Responsibilities

  • Applies paint to prepared surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Prepares surfaces for painting, including priming, sealing, spackling, patching, sanding, and related surface preparation work.
  • Repairs and replaces wall surfaces including plaster, sheetrock, brick, concrete, and other wall structures to achieve paint-ready conditions.
  • Repairs and replaces wall vinyl and other wall coverings as required.
  • Maintains paint brushes, spray equipment, and related tools in safe and proper operating condition.
  • Keeps shop, paint storage areas, and work sites clean and organized.
  • Performs minor maintenance jobs as requested, particularly those supporting painting or surface preparation tasks.
  • Assists and supports other maintenance engineers when necessary.
  • Repairs doors, window frames, molding, cabinets, and loose or damaged flooring as needed to support finishing and painting work.
  • Installs new doors, windows, cabinets, wooden fixtures, racks, and stands when required.
  • Repairs, rebuilds, and constructs furniture and fixtures, using standard woodworking machines such as lathes, band saws, planers, and sanders.
  • Constructs fine glue joints and performs precision woodworking operations, including doweling, dovetailing, rabbeting, mortising, cutting, fitting, and fastening.
  • Installs new and replaces broken mirrors and glass as requested.
  • Installs, repairs, and replaces tile of all kinds as needed or requested.
  • Repairs and replaces flooring systems as needed or requested.
