This role involves preparing wood and metal surfaces for painting and applying paint to various items such as equipment, parts, machinery, and buildings using spray guns, brushes, and rollers. The job requires reading work orders, understanding verbal instructions, and preparing surfaces by removing dirt, oil, grease, old paint, and smoothing or filling imperfections. The position also involves working at heights, selecting and mixing paint colors, and potentially erecting scaffolding or setting up ladders. Requirements
- 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
- Ability to work at heights with no fear.
Responsibilities
- Prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting.
- Paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush, and rollers.
- Read work orders and receive instructions verbally.
- Prepare surfaces by removing dirt, oil, grease, and old paint, and smoothing cracks or filling holes.
- Work at heights without fear.
- Fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.
- Select and mix coating liquids to produce desired colors according to specifications.
- Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
- Apply paint to surfaces using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
