The Painter works as a contributing member of the fabrication team in finishing the interactive and scenic treated exhibits, interpretive displays, themed environments and structures from shop/construction drawings and finish schedules and specifications based on existing designs from Roto’s Design Team. Essential Functions: Provide preparation, sanding, surface filling, masking, priming, painting, staining and top coating support for exhibits, displays, scenic facades and graphic signs using both common and a variety of unusual materials as required to satisfy the demands of the project. Operate standard finish preparation tools and finishing equipment, spray booth equipment, including, sanders, HVLP sprayers and pumps, cup finish guns, and other various hand power tools required in the production and scenic finishing and assemblies of final products. Assemble and disassemble structures and devices into exhibit structures both inside the shop and sometimes at client locations as required. Prepare and finish samples for client approvals, scaled models and mock-ups of exhibit pieces and spaces for evaluation in wood, plywoods, plastics, foams or similar modeling products. Keep shop and personal workspace clean, organized and well-supplied. Regular (weekly) paint booth maintenance and cleaning. Provide quality service to internal staff and external clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Attendance, promptness, professionalism, the ability to pay attention to detail, especially finish schedules and legends, cooperativeness with co-workers and managers, and politeness to clients and vendors. Support Roto operations through participation in meetings and team functions as appropriate.
