This position is essential for executing daily tasks on Leopardo projects, involving surface preparation, painting, applying wall coverings, and maintenance touch-ups.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be a union painter in good standing with the union.

Responsibilities

Read work order.
Set up cart.
Lay down drop cloths or masking tape and paper.
Remove fixtures if needed.
Smooth surfaces using sandpaper, scarpers, brushes, steel wool and sanding machines.
Mix paint in bucket.
Fill up air sprayer.
Pour paint into paint trowel or tray.
Use roller with long handle to paint surfaces or air gun to spray surfaces.
Roll or spray surfaces in an up & down motion.
Hand paint using trowel.
Use scaffold for high level surfaces.
Complete work from the waist level and up when using scaffold.
Erect scaffolds and ladders.
Place strips of wallpaper onto table.
Use clamp to keep wallpaper in place.
Use roller to roll glue compound onto strips of wallpaper.
Raise ends and lightly fold wallpaper.
Set finished strip to side.
Roll glue onto several wallpaper strips and carry over to work area.
Align wallpaper to wall, using plate to smooth and get air bubbles out.
Cut end of wallpaper if too long.
Surface preparation: Fill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers.
Cover surfaces with dropcloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
Apply primers, sealers, under-coats, and finish paint coats.
Brush and roll applications.
Spray applications.
Maintenance Touch-ups.
Repairs.
Apply wall coverings.
Prepare adhesives.
Install coverings.
Operate, clean, and maintain equipment: Brushes and rollers, Sprayers, Pumps, Drywall taping tools.
Erect scaffolds and ladders.
