Plan and coordinate daily painting schedules to meet production deadlines. Ensure proper surface preparation, coating application, and curing processes. Monitor paint quality, thickness, adhesion, and overall finish standards. Troubleshoot painting defects and implement corrective actions. Maintain and oversee spray booths, paint systems, and related equipment. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, PPE use, and hazardous material handling. Manage inventory of paints, coatings, and supplies. Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to improve processes. Document production data, quality checks, and maintenance logs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required (technical training preferred).
  • 3–5+ years of industrial painting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • 1–2+ years in a lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of paint systems (powder coating and/or wet paint).
  • Familiarity with surface prep techniques (sandblasting, cleaning, masking).
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Good communication and team leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in metal enclosure or industrial equipment manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
