About The Position

This role involves conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations, and wearing proper personal protective equipment. The Painter II supports Painter I and Supervisors in the service department, working with various paints and systems including enamels, polyurethanes, acrylic enamels, epoxies, airless systems, conventional systems, sandblasting, and bodywork. With supervision, the ability to perform the end-to-end process including cleaning, sandblasting, bodywork, prep, paint, and detailing is expected. The role also includes attending and completing required training, maintaining awareness of industry changes, working in a neat and orderly fashion, improving work methods and safety standards, and maintaining work areas and tools according to contamination control guidelines. The Painter II is responsible for maintaining the necessary tools for job performance, approaching work positively, contributing to team efforts, and monitoring job expenses versus estimates, reporting any cost overruns to the supervisor. Additionally, the role involves cleaning and rebuilding shop equipment such as paint guns, pumps, and pots, and performing general maintenance around the shop.

Requirements

  • Formal Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: 3-4 years
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
  • Successfully completed all required training curriculum to be designated Painter II.
  • Moderate level capability in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Supports Painter I and Supervisors painting for the service department including work with enamels, polyurethanes, acrylic enamels, epoxies, airless systems, conventional systems, sandblasting, and bodywork.
  • With supervision, able to perform end to end process to include cleaning, sand blasting, body work, prep, paint and detailing.
  • Attends and successfully completes required training classes.
  • Maintains high awareness of applicable changes in the industry.
  • Works in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways of improving the methods of work, work area, and safety standards.
  • Maintains work area and tools, as applicable, in proper condition by following proper contamination control guidelines, including housekeeping, and performing other general maintenance duties.
  • Maintains necessary set of tools required for job performance to clean, sand blast, prep, paint and detail components, machines and other required projects.
  • Approaches work in a positive manner, maintains conduct that is supportive of the work Team and sets the standard for others to follow.
  • Contributes to Team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations.
  • Monitors job expenses versus estimates and ensures that the supervisor is aware of any cost over run, prior to the job being completed.
  • Cleans and rebuilds shop equipment to include paint guns, pumps and pots.
  • Performs maintenance around the shop such as changing light bulbs, filters, hoses on blast pots, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
