About The Position

The Marvin Group is a Strategic Partner for Global Alternate Mission Equipment and Sustainment. The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years' experience as a painter (Aerospace preferred, but not required) (Automotive experience acceptable)
  • Experience in Masking components / parts
  • Experience in Sanding paint / primer / metals
  • Experience painting metals required
  • Experience painting aircraft parts desired
  • Automated Paint experience is a plus
  • Ability to work overtime required based on business needs
  • Read/write/speak English proficiently

Responsibilities

  • Coat surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials such as primer, paint, enamel, lacquer using spray gun in accordance with part drawing specifications and engineering documentation.
  • Mask, sand, and prepare components for paint application
  • Comply with Paint shop standard practices.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with process specifications.
  • Ability to match or detect differences in colors, including shades of color and brightness
  • Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies. Use personal protective equipment and ensure components are protected (PTP)
  • Ability to read, understand, and comply with OSHA / ITAR regulatory requirements
  • Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools as assigned
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation
  • Able to pass Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification
  • Ability to use tools, equipment, and materials in the aircraft painting process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
