About The Position

Skyline Products Painter Helper Compensation: First shift 7:30am to 4:00pm $20-$24 an hour Second shift 4:00pm to 12:30am $2.00 shift differential. The Painter Helper assists the Industrial Painter with finish-coat painting in accordance with special specifications on work where high-grade finish is essential. Includes use of lacquers, enamels, and/or powder coat painting. Assists in mixing of paints to achieve special effects in shades for our Gas Price Signs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 0-1 Year Industrial or Auto Body Paint Experience
  • Minimum 0-1 Year Use of Paint Sprayer and all Appropriate Equipment
  • Minimum 0-1 Year Prepping and Preparing Metals for Finish Coats and Painting
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Experience Reading Blueprints and Painting Diagrams and Specific Documents a plus
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • 1 - 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Selecting and mixing coating paints to desired color and prepare spraying equipment such as cleaning or adjusting spray guns.
  • Preparing metals for painting and coating with sanding, grinding, hand tools and power tools as needed
  • Self-starter with the willingness to take direction from area lead and Production Painter and follow that direction when not working under direct supervision
  • Assist in reading and interpreting technical documents such as paint mixing procedures, and maintaining sprayer equipment as required
  • Have the ability and desire to become efficient with painting techniques, meet company productivity rates, maintain mil thickness, and learn all aspects of job as required.
  • Cleaning spraying equipment with solvent or other recommended cleaning solutions daily.
  • Maintaining the paint mix room, paint booth and all equipment while following the company safety policies.
  • Maintaining proper respirator care and operation and using the breathing air supply system when spraying epoxy paints
