About The Position

The Paint Helper assists Industrial Painters with surface preparation, material handling, equipment setup, and coating operations in industrial, commercial, and construction environments. This position supports painting activities by ensuring work areas, tools, materials, and equipment are prepared and maintained in a safe and efficient manner. The Paint Helper works under the direction of experienced painters and supervisors while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and painting equipment.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior industrial, construction, maintenance, or general labor experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial painting and surface preparation practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Industrial Painters with surface preparation activities, including cleaning, scraping, sanding, grinding, and masking.
  • Prepare work areas by protecting adjacent surfaces, equipment, and materials from overspray and contamination.
  • Transport, organize, and stage paints, coatings, tools, and supplies throughout the work area.
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and cleanup of spray painting and blasting equipment.
  • Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to manufacturer specifications and supervisor instructions.
  • Clean and maintain brushes, rollers, spray equipment, hoses, and other painting tools.
  • Remove debris, spent materials, and waste from work areas while maintaining proper housekeeping standards.
  • Assist in loading, unloading, and handling painting materials and equipment.
  • Support painters during coating applications and touch-up activities.
  • Follow all job site safety requirements, company policies, and customer procedures.
  • Perform general labor duties in support of painting operations.
