About The Position

The Painter Helper assists with industrial coatings work in operational industrial settings, including surface preparation, mixing, and application. The role involves using power and hand tools, handling coatings and painting equipment, and keeping work areas and equipment clean. Coatings work may take place at ground level or at heights, so helpers must be capable of working at heights and use required fall-protection equipment and scaffolding. Most Painter Helpers learn on the job under the supervision of an experienced painter.

Requirements

• Capable of working at heights.
• Able to discriminate between colors, including matching colors and detecting differences.
• Skilled in mixing and blending paints and applying them using spray equipment, rollers, or brushes.
• Able to understand and execute written and oral instructions.
• Punctual and dependable in attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with industrial coatings tasks, including surface preparation, mixing, and application.
• Operate power and hand tools for surface preparation safely and effectively.
• Assist with handling and mixing industrial coatings and use a half-face respirator for protection.
• Operate, clean, and maintain painting equipment, including sprayers, pumps, and pressure washers.
• Safely handle, store, and label materials.
• Work in ground-level and elevated areas using required fall-protection equipment and access scaffolding.
• Keep work areas, tools, and painting equipment clean and free of paint stains and debris.
• Mix and blend paints and apply them using spray equipment, rollers, or brushes.
• Follow suitable painting methods for each job and understand and execute written and oral instructions.
• Maintain punctuality and dependable attendance in accordance with project work rules.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
